The GFGSA team understands that communication and connection are key. Our clients are spread geographically across South Australia, many of them in regional, rural and remote areas.
Targeted outreach visits are constantly being planned as we stay mindful of geographic limitations of carers and the efficiency of a visit to an area or region, coupled with the possibility of establishing a GFGSA Village in an outreach area.
GFGSA recognises and respects local knowledge and acquired wisdom, and understands that the only way to provide a fully inclusive, appropriate support service is through community engagement.
We definitely go the extra distance!
It takes a village to raise a child
Our Carer Advocates are committed to providing realistic solutions to practical problems and recognise the value of a ‘coffee and a chat’ when you may feel quite alone.
GFGSA Villages are based on the premise that ‘It takes a village to raise a child’, and given a location and opportunity, Grandparent and Kinship Carers can meet like-minded people for support and companionship. Villages are also a great way to share information, grow awareness of local facilities and services and meet new people and providers.
