Mike has substantial experience in criminal justice, child protection, volunteer management, event operations, organisational development and adult education.
Mike is a former UK Police Inspector with substantial experience in leadership roles, engaging local communities and investigating child protection issues.
Mike is currently the joint Deputy Chair of the Board of Volunteering SA&NT, has a leadership/facilitation role with the Volunteer Strategy for South Australia and is a contributor to the development of the National Volunteering Strategy.
As a public speaker, Mike has presented to local, national and international conferences on leadership, career development and volunteer management topics, and is accredited to deliver Child Safe Environment training in South Australia.
Mike is excited to lead Grandparents for Grandchildren. “I was looking for a meaningful role where I could use my leadership skills to make a difference to people’s lives. I just knew GFGSA was the right fit and recognised the aims linked nicely with so much of my background and values. It’s a great organisation with dedicated and caring staff, and I look forward to them, and the grandparents I meet through our numerous programs, helping me to understand how we can continue to provide effective support and what more we can do in the future”.
We welcome Mike to the role of CEO and we wish him a successful and satisfying journey with GFGSA.
